Rating: - Knowing which foods not to eat has made such a big difference!
I lent this book to my mum who has has been suffereing with Rheaumotaid Arthritis, Lupis and Frequent headaches about 2 months ago. She has found the information extremely helpful and has consequently made changes to her diet with excellent results so far by not eating certain foods.
We recommend this book very much. Gone are the headaches and she looks and feels so much better.

Rating: - Fascinating revelations about everyday food choices
An authoritative, in-depth but easy to read account of how our choice of seemingly ordinary foods may unwittingly cause illness (and in some cases, cures for problems). Quite a revelation as I thought I was fairly clued up on this subject, but I discorvered some new ideas for treating migraines which I hadn't considered - though I don't know if I'm quite ready to try the strong coffee migraine cure yet! Recommended.
Rating: - A big disappointment - a promising subject poorly handled
I bought this book on the basis that it is an interesting concept with the potential for practical benefits. However, in the hands of the author it turned out basically to be just vegan propoganda against meat and dairy products.
Rating: - a review before reading
I heard this book discussed on the BBC Radio 4 science programme "The Material World". I was impressed by the fact that the author is a practising doctor who was basing his advice on proven scientific research into the effects of specific foods. My husband is a diabetic who is increasingly suffering pain and degeneration particularly in his legs; he also likes his food - a lot. This book sounded worth buying.
Rating: - Book of the Future is here now
A wise man once said that the doctor of the future will prescribe foods to eat in order to maintain optimal health. Well, the future is here now with Dr. Barnard's book. Extremely well-researched, it contains the latest findings on the relationship between pain, disease and what we eat.
If you have back pain, headaches, endometriosis, cancer or any of the many disorders and diseases common today, read this book and you will probably get the relief you seek. Every doctor -- and every patient -- should have a copy of this fascinating, superb, life-saving book.
