 Rating: - Wonderful!I love this book. The recipes are well explained, the cookies are great and the pictures in the book makes you want to bake them all! Rating: - Simply the very best to be had.My husband and I make neary 1,500 cookies from this book each Christmas: To give as GIFTS!. We make about 12 dozen cookies of 12 to 13 varieties, then pack tins with one cookies at a time, from each variety, unitl the tins are full. Everyone always returns the tins when they are empty, so that we'll remember them next year! However, the publisher ought to be SHOT. We thought our copy was falling apart due to over use, but I can see from this page, that everyone else has the same problem! Rating: - The best cookie book I own!If you ever needed inspiration to start your Christmas baking, this is a great book to use. The photos are just gorgeous, and there are recipes for all skill levels. For the truly ambitious, the gingerbread cathedral is a massive holiday project. (I've never quite gotten that ambitious.) Every recipe I've tried was wonderful, but often I simply thumb through the pages, looking for ideas and daydreaming about the next holiday baking binge. Here's hoping that Wm. Morrow puts this one out again very soon. Rating: - Best Cookie Recipes Available AnywhereThis is by FAR the best cookie cookbook available anywhere. Incredible. I just made the toffee tonight, and i still can't believe that it came out of my kitchen. Unfortunately, I have also experienced the problems with the binding. My book is falling apart, and i am going to have to buy another copy. The thought of losing some pages and having the book go out of print is just horrifying. Has anyone passed these complaints about the binding on to the publisher? Rating: - The BEST cookie book for all year long!I agree with the other comments -- I love this book. It is the one book I reach for all year long when I want to make cookies that will impress. Rose Levy Beranbaum is my favorite cookbook author, and I have never gone wrong with any of her recipies. I am sad to say, however, that my book is also in about a dozen pieces, and has been taped back together as well as possible. Even so, I wouldn't trade it for anything. The pictures are wonderful, as are the easy to follow recipies. |
