 Rating:  - This excellent book has given me over a year of fun!I have been working on making a quilt with 225 of the 4 inch squares in this book. Each little square is a masterpiece and after over 200 in a two year period I am not looking forward to the end of this project. I've made 3 other quilts in the interim, but when I really want to have fun, I pick up this book and make another little square. Rating:  - Good variety, great applique! Good for miniaturists.I found this book to be a reference I turn to again and again, especially when I'm looking for floral applique ideas and holiday inspirations. Also, the small size of the blocks included (all blocks are 4" square) allows for a lot of experimentation. I only gave it three stars because there are so many "families" of blocks; that wasn't initially clear when I purchased it -- I hoped for more variety. Fun to leaf through when I'm feeling a little blocked (pun not intentional -- sorry!), however. Rating: - This book is addicting!The minute I saw this book, I had to have it. The directions were very clear. The book did not repeat basic topics that seem to take up just 1/3 of just about every quilt book I ever read, yet it would be appropriate for beginners or advanced quilters. It provided more patterns than I have ever seen in one quilt book. Both traditional and brand new ideas were presented. My favorite quilt block was the one with the rotary cutter. Rating: - Terrific patterns covering all types of designsThe quilt designs shown in this book range from the very traditional squares to the whimsical. These squares would make lovely pillow tops when used by themselves in additional to making unique quilts. Another use of the design (which is my personal preference) is for stained glass panels. Everyone should be able to find a design to fit their needs in this book. Rating: - The most useful quilting book for the busy quilter!This book offers wonderful quilt block patterns for great quilts and projects including baby quilts, cat quilts, holiday projects, Noah's Ark, Sewing Motifs, and much more. In addition, it includes many patterns for traditional quilt blocks and some lovely applique patterns. My absolute favorite quilting book. |
