Although primarily intended for Church of Scotland ministers and readers, this book will be of interest internationally. It deliberately moves away from the archaic - though often beautiful - lanaguge of the previous Books of Common Order of 1979 and 1940. As well as prayers, it contains several outline services for Holy Communion, Baptism, weddings, funerals, baptisms and less frequent events (such as the dedication of new buildings). There is even a prayer for those involved in space research. |
