Rating: - Returning to "prioritising being slim"
I just started to read this book, but already I find it inspiring. I'll never diet again. I can see that this book is going to on my very small self-help bookshelf. This book shows you how you can change you weight destiny, how it's possibly to enjoy your life and have the figure you've always dreamed of. It has shown me how I've been in previous years a "naturally slim" person, because of stress and nervous energy. I always felt like it was pure luck that I happened to be so thin then, now at my imperfect and soon to be changed weight with thanks to this book, I realise that it was just that my lifestyle was in tune with my weight. It's a definite must read, no matter what weight you are. Whether you believe you are "naturally slim" or whether ... Read More:
Rating: - Useful tips for maintainin a healthy weight
I rather liked this book - it didn't offer quick fixes but it did offer practical tips for maintaining a healthy weight over the long haul.
I'd recommend it because I think it offers sensible advice on getting into good habits, like avoiding hunger, and getting into the mindset that small changes add up over a relatively small amount of time to large differences. It is similar to a self help guide to managing debt for example.
It has helped me personally try and stay on course through having a baby etc and I think it helps you to keep an eye out for other people's tricks for staying slim - because I have noticed that people do have them.
Rating: - This book is a joke!
I decided to read this book on the basis of the very positive reviews of other readers. Well, to say that I am disappointed is an understatement. I am actually rather angry at Dr Kingsley, who seems to have had the clever idea of making money out of people struggling with weight issues when she clearly has nothing interesting to say on the topic.
If you are even vaguely aware of what healthy eating is, you will find NOTHING in this book that you don't already know. There are no nutritional information, no interesting insights on the psychology of struggling with excess weight to be found in this book. Dr Kingsley basically expects you to part with your hard-earned cash to hear that:
1)even slim people put weight on if they eat fatty ... Read More:
Rating: - Waste Of Money!
Well after reading the reviews I decided to take the plunge, why I ask myself, oh! why! What an absolute load of Tosh. It's easier, and cheaper to go onto Google and type in the word diet, you can then chose from the hundreds of thousands of sites it throws up to give you exactly the same information that is held within the pages of this non-sensical book.
Slim people aren't slim because they just are...hello yes that's logical, they diest, exercise, watch what they eat, wear clothes that suit their body shape.... if someone had suggested to me to write a book about how to become slim without dieting, using these nuggets of info: I would be laughing all the way to the bank. And, another point, I think enough people out there realise everyone ... Read More:
