Rating: - Good replacement for film camera
I bought this camera as a replacement for a Kodak APS camera and can really see the advantages of digital photography over film. The only negative thing with the camera is that it lacks 'face detection' which is sometimes noticeable on distant shots.
It comes with software for making minor adjustments to your photos, such as the brightness or cropping the picture, but a lot more basic than other software available, which may be an advantage if you're not too technically minded. It also comes with other software for things like making greeting cards from your photos, which I'd recommend that you don't install unless you plan to use it.
Rating: - Use Scene Modes
I wasn't too impressed with the pictures from this camera when I first started using it in auto mode, too washed out with poor colours (OK it's a cheap camera, what do you expect). However, I then started using the scene mode settings and what a transformation ! This makes a huge difference, colouration is now pretty much what you would like to see. Excellent little camera for the price.
Rating: - For the ease and price, the perfect first camera!!!
I bought this one off Amazon a while ago. I've taken lots of stills and hours worth of videos already and Im pretty happy about the purchase.
I was using a 35mm Nikon F55 before, which was very good in its own right, but the whole ritual of getting the films processed and printing them out was getting tedious. Though I've had my flints with lots of Cybershots and Samsungs this is virtually my 'real' first digital that I bought 'new'.
One main thing is, its really easy to use. I hadn't even gone through the guide when I was exploring through the various setups its got. And setups/presets, its got many. I was at the British MotoGP the other week and fairly abused the various still modes and it all turned out very good. ... Read More:
Rating: - Good middle of the road camera
If you're a professional photo nut, this is probably not for you. Then again, if you are, you wouldn't be looking at this camera. All that aside, the kodak Easyshare is the PERFECT camera for the amateur photographer or average person who just wants good pictures and downloadable capabilities. Great memory storage too.
The best part is the help button. Unlike some other cameras, this one really holds your hand through the process and it's virtually impossible to make a mistake. You can toss the manual if you want--that's how helpful it is.
This camera almost does away with Photoshop, but not quite. As I said before, if you want a really good camera for a great price, and you're not looking to have your photos in some contest, ... Read More:
Rating: - A superb camera for the price (and for a bit dearer a price too)
I paid almost double the price for this camera and still feel like I got a bargain. It is a very well made camera with all the atributes of one a lot dearer, anti camera shake, large screen, different modes etc. The internal memory is a bit small, but no smaller than most other cameras. Mine is in black too, and it makes it look a lot dearer than it is. Good stuff.
