Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Kaspersky might disable your internet/email But don't be put off!
I have found Kaspersky so much more effective and faster than Norton, but it might need a little fine adjusment and tailoring to your computer. 2 years running when I have installed it, it has disabled my internet connection, but it just needs the ports settings adjusted. For those who might find themselves in my position, click configure mail anti-virus from the Kaspersky menu on the desktop and then select scan pop3 etc highlighted in blue and then keep unchecking boxes until the internet works again.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent
I recently changed my ISP moving from Norton to McAfee, which were both supplied free of charge as part of my deal. McAfee was simply awful and left me feeling scared to use the Internet so I decided to purchase my own. After searching the Internet for reviews Kaspersky appeared to be well thought of so the purchase was made. Installation was an absolute doodle and I have to say I now feel that my PC is extremely well protected. What's more my PC runs much faster especially at start up, Kaspersky really uses much less CPU usage than any other anti virus / firewall that I have used before. It is so easy to use even someone with very limited computing knowledge will have no problems.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Mr Colin
Quite simply the best anti-virus/malware software I've come across. If you have Trojan and malware problems - especially the dreaded vmundo virus - Norton, AVG and SpyDoctor do not and can not cope with it. I think a constant theme through reviews is those that have suffered infection, find Kaspersky a total god-send.

After downloading and opening a small zip file my computer was covered in infected files. Norton barely noticed a thing, SpyDoctor missed a whole bunch of system files whilst finding plenty of false positives, and other online checks missed these as well.

Manually checking my own system files had already shown there were about 70 new dll's created on the infection date - most unlikely. Deleting system ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The perfect solution?
I had just recently purchased a new laptop and duely loaded my favored Norton anti virus software and set about my usual surfing routine, I am by nature very paranoid about virus' and the like so I regularly did full system scans, however, whilst surfing I discoverd that ad's were popping up everytime I moved to a new website, a quick scan with Norton told me all was well as did a full scan, it was this that sparked me into some research.

A quick search on google (With annoing ad's still present) led me to a horrible realisation, Norton was garbage!. I quickly searched for an alternative and after reading many reviews I settled on Kaspersky.

I started slow, downloading the trial software for free off of their website. ... Read More:

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Needs a fast PC
Kaspersky states that you need a minimum of Pentium 300 MHz and 128MB RAM to run this- this is totally unrealistic in my experience. Using this on a 1.8GHz Windows XP machine with 1GB RAM, it is just not enough to run this without causing annoying slowdowns. I'd imagine you would need 2GB of RAM and a faster processor for it to run satisfactorily, even more so if you are using Windows Vista. If you have a fast machine, then this package probably has the best anti-virus out there, but the firewall is not quite as user friendly as Zone Alarm.
