A trial version of Norton was installed on my Acer laptop when I bought it. I decided to change to McAfee since I already owned a copy, but it kept crashing due to McAfee's 'Hackerwatch'. I bought a copy of Norton and it has installed like a dream and is working perfectly. No going back to McAfee for me!
Rating: - So glad I removed it!
I had this software installed on my laptop and after many suggestions from my friends I removed it and installed McAfee. So glad I did that! The laptop is so much faster now and McAfee is not obtrusive at all as Norton is. I would not install it again even if given for free.
NB. My version of McAfee does not have a firewall though (as opposed to Norton) so I am relying on Vista for that! so far so good

Have used Norton for 5yrs with no problems but this years renewal came around and couldnt access Norton web pages from AOL to download renewal, so what to do? Checked out prices for whole new package and Amazon the best by far. Received in couple of days but then dredding the actual update. Would AOL work afterwards and how many days would it take to get back online, last year with download renewal took 3 days!!! Well have just done the whole process including writing this review in 45 mins, WOW!!! All working brilliantly!! Did download uninstall tool from Norton first as recommended by other reviewers. Would advise any AOL users to go for it.

well I deleted my other revue, NOT HAPPY, this software looks great, it works great and gives a great sense of pc security. Fact is though when you really need it, it's next to useless. It came pre loaded on my new laptop, I was happy to give it a go although I usally use mcafee or zonealarm, BIG MISTAKE! Got hit my a mutha trojan, to be fair I tried every freeware, trialware and antispyware I could find and nothing shifted it. But Norton didn't even pick it up, flag it or even try to remove it, it just give a green tick allis ok. No it isn't, the pc was unstable, pop ups gallore to dodgy anti spyware sites, firewall disabled at iregular times. Classic symptons. I have had to factory restore to salvage a working laptop. Norton will be the first ... Read More:

I've been using Norton Internet security products for many years with slowly diminishing results. I'd had so many problems that Last year I bought the new and, by symantec, lauded 360. Big mistake. It took me several days to get it to work with the help of 'customer services' and at a significant cost. They eventually took remote control of my computer and as I watched cleaned up my hard disc. As they were doing this I noticed that they used a 'removal tool' (the first I had heard of this) to strip out norton programmes which, it appeared to me, were years old. They then reinstalled 360 and now, at last it worked. However, it made my computer run (if that is not an abuse of 'run') so slowly that for the last year computing has been a nightmare. ...
