Rating: - An excellent game - worth buying the Wii for!
I bought this game earlier in the year, and I have to say it is one of the best games I have ever owned.
Firstly, the graphics. I was at first a little skeptical about the style, but as I played, I could see why it was chosen - it works perfectly. The visuals throughout are stunning.
The controls take a little getting used to at first, but they soon become habit. I was surprised to read some reviews saying it is impossible to get some moves to work consistently. After a little while of playing, I found that they depended as much on the orientation (including twist) of the remote as on the way it was moved. Once mastered, the system of painting onto the screen for some actions is quite intuitive, and makes this game ... Read More:
Rating: - play it on the PS2
I was really excited to find out okami was coming out on the wii but having played it i wish i hadn't spent the money.
sorry if i come across as an "idiot" however having playing the PS2 version and buying this version i can honestly say it is a waste of money, the controls are unresponsive on things such as the power slash - this move is done by drawing a straight line easy huh? well appaently not, any slight wabble - it doesn't work, 2 hours into the game the susano style susano move is actually near impossible since horrzonal lines sometimes dont even slash the item being aimed for. - we actually found it worked more if every horrizontal line was done diagonally and went from from 1 side of the screen to the other where as on ... Rating: - boring!!
ok, so i read all the reviews over and over on here before buying this game, full of excitement when i bought it only to be majorly disappointed!! this game is so boring, and i only went as far as an hour in, and have not picked it up again since!! would not recommend!! specially for the money it cost!
Rating: - An essential Wii game
The Zelda franchise has always been my Nintendo favourite. Now, 37 hours into Okami, it has a serious rival. Okami is, quite simply, the best Wii game I have played since it's release, and I got mine the day they came out. If you are looking for PS3 pin sharp graphics then forget it. What Okami offers is a tapestry of swirling colours and images that truly represent the feel of Japanese mythology that is the basis for the story. The controls, whilst a little awkward to start with, quickly become second nature and don't let any adverse review put you off. Okami will immerse you in a sprawling, adventurous universe, without your heroes being child like sprites with their annoying cool, irritating dialogue. The best game I have played for ... Read More:
Rating: - As fun as it is beautiful
Put quite simply, Okami is the most balanced, intuitive, enjoyable and beautiful game I have played in a long time. Below is a more detailed breakdown of the game:
Gameplay:
The gameplay of Okami is seamless. Travelling the vast and wonderful land doesn't become a chore due to the ease of the controls and the fact that they just work. Ready At Dawn have done a fantastic job to make the control scheme so simple yet so intuitive. The world is entirely free-roaming with the combat being contained to a ring when contact is made with a demon scroll. This, to any Zelda fans (like myself), initially seemed like a drawback to the game having experienced Wolf Link, however, I personally think th the containment of these combat episodes ... Read More:
