Rating: - Great album
This is a great album if you like rock mixed with rap. The songs are very political which I believe is a good thing for America, which is who I believe is the target audience.
Rating: - Very Different But Something Of A Triumph
In this fickle world of disposable plastic pop some of which seems like it is designed to last barely the duration of the song itself, it is heartening to discover a band like the Flobots. No overnight sensation they are probably the most unexpected phenomenon of the year.
Put simply the band use a rap-metal formula but there's banjos, horns, sweet female backing vocals, and cellos on it... It shouldn't work, but it does to such an alarming effect it really needs a new genre to describe it. Rating: - Smart and Compelling
This is not the kind of music I normally go. But due to 'Handlebars' I just had to check out the entire album.
Political, clever and beautiful. With rock styling mixed with Hip Hop, powerful lyrics and a great structure Flobots is essential listening. These guys (and girls) deserve to be huge.
Rating: - Intelligent insurgence for the masses
Intelligent, politicised and incredibly potent. Hip hop, jazz, folk and some mental rock stylings fused into some of the most addictive and powerful songs you'll hear. Along with the likes of Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, we now face a new breed of act that respects the listeners intelligence, not takes it for granted.
