Rating: - Student life
This was broughtas a small present for my student daughter and was the only thing she read immediately and completly. Most of her friends have been phoned up and had extracts read to them. Certainly one for students and other flat sharers.
Rating: - Perfect for anyone who's ever had a roomate!
This book is funny, entertaining, a brilliant coffee table book (especially as a hint if you share a flat with someone!)
The only annoying thing is the author's notes on each 'note'. They're pointless and not funny, it's almost embarassing. But you can skip them! It's worth it!
Rating: - Cracking
I HATE cheese and that is why my hubby thought this would be a good book for me (gee thanks!) Anyway it is hysterical and shows how petty/selfish and dishonest some people can be. It brings back memories of labelling food in Uni halls then finding drunken "mates" scoffing it in the early hours of the morning grrrrrrrrr!
Rating: - Brilliant Christmas Present
I got this today (Christmas) and I havent stopped laughing since I opened it.
There are some crazy notes in there and is a really entertaining book.
Rating: - ...but are they real?
The only thing that stopped me fully enjoying this fantastic idea for a book was the small, niggling feeling that not all of these notes were completely real.
They just seemed too perfect! There's barely a spelling mistake to be seen on any of them, and that doesn't ring true. The variety of materials they are written on, and the different sets of handwriting, just seemed that bit too neat to me.
But maybe it's just my suspicious mind. Maybe they are real, or at least reproductions of genuine notes. I apologise unreservedly to the author if my pondering has led me to incorrect assumptions.
So, to finish: if you've ever shared a flat, you will very much enjoy this book; it encapsulates a thousand experiences. Pity the accompanying text is mildly irritating.
