Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic and Unique!
Just a note: I have the American version of this cookbook.

I have had this cookbook for about 6 months and it is incredible! The recipes are easy to follow and the author gives substitutions for hard to find ingredients. The majority of the recipes don't take long to make and the dessert section is fantastic. The Fauxstess Cupcakes are especially delicious. The recipes are really unique and lots of fun to make. The author really emphasizes fresh ingredients and steers clear of using fancy gadgets and cookware. Overall, it's really enjoyable and accessible, even for people who are new to being vegan or who are not particularly skilled in the kitchen. I highly recommend it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Buy this for the raspberry blackout cake on its own!
The title of my review says it all - the first thing I made from it was the Raspberry Blackout Cake with a Ganache-y Icing and it's quite literally the best cake I or my boyfriend have ever tasted. Sponge so smooth and moist it's unbelievable, and the ganache icing is a dream. And it only took one trip to my local supermarket to buy the ingredients - none of the searching high and low for obscure American products that vegan cookbooks often require.

Buy this book and make this cake for every birthday you have coming up. You will make people very happy!

EDIT: I've since tried many more recipes from this book and they're all amazing. Seriously. BUY THIS BOOK!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - ok if you eat mostly white flour and potatoes
If your diet consists mainly of white flour and potatoes you will love this book! unfortunately i dont eat either, so there are very little recipes that i can make from it. I wish somebody had warned me before i bought it :(

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good, simple recipes.
Great book, with plenty of simple everyday recipes.

No frills Vegan cooking at it's very best.

This book was great, I 'm looking forward to Vegan Cupcakes from the same author.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - A Non-Mover
I bought this book quite a while ago based on the reviews and I have to say I'm disappointed.

This is the type of cookbook I call a "non-mover": in other words, I bought it, read the preface/introduction and browsed the recipes extensively, but saw no recipes that made me really, really want to make them. To me, the majority of the recipes seem like a lot of hard work for very little reward. I also find Moskowitz's narrative extremely annoying - it's as though she's trying her very hardest to appear hip and cool by taking every opportunity to show off about her perceived "punk" credentials, plus the fact that throughout the book, cooking tips and food facts are supplied by her cat, Fizzle, seemed unnecessarily twee for a cookbook. If you can get past that, the sections on cakes and desserts are okay, but only account for a small section of the book.
