- Great for 11 months then it all went wrong
I got Panda internet security cheap when I got my PC last year and for half the price of Norton and McAfee I figured it was working great never any problems and no slow down. Then last week I got the pop up box saying you must renew in the next 30 days, thought I'd wait till I get paid so just clicked to go to the register screen (as there was no close option) and exited. Couple of days later I updated the virus definitions and started a scan after the pc seemed to be working overtime and "hacking tool detected" came up. It gave me the option to remove and delete the hacking tool so of course I did... then I went to restart the pc and windows wouldn't start + blue screen. Essential data deleted or corrupted is what it was telling me. Luckily windows vista has a repair option and after two long attempts running the slow but effective repair process I managed to get back into windows. I've now ordered Norton 360 as I'd rather have a protected pc even if it does run a bit slower... I've given it one star as at least it reminded me that I should be backing up my data more often

what a pity, I was having a nightmare trying to get some decent security on my new laptop, as reviewed, the norton that came with it was a disaster, zonealarm didn't load properly and had errors so I tried panda, all looked good, a nice simple piece of software quietly getting on with the job, couple of days down the line on the trial it just stopped working, wouldn't update and said everything was disabled? Bizare so had to uninstall. Anyone got any ideas what caused this, or had it happen. For now I have loaded mcafee and well see how the new 2009 offerings pan out....great software, I used to use 2004 along time ago and was always impressed. It may have been a blip but with the escalted malware situation at the mo it's not worth the risk! These programmes have to work all the time. I may have a look at 2009 when it comes out? When its working proably the best, I notice a rapid turnover of internet pages when compared to Norton and Kaspersky....try it and see how you get on but do the trial first..good luck

Replaced a well known brand of internet security that ground my computer to a halt, with Panda. Best thing i ever did. Easy to set up. Works perfectly. What more can you ask?

In the last year I've used Norton, Bullguard and Panda's security suites. Once you have got to grips with each of them there does not seem to be much to choose between them.
Until you have a problem that is. Panda's support by email was excellent and after a 24hour delay when I first contacted them, they replied quite quickly. (Usually within about 3 hours). It was obvious that someone was actually reading my emails and thinking before replying.
My experience with Norton about 3 years ago was that they just scanned my email sent me a pre prepared reply that didn't address my problem.

I've been using Panda Internet Security for 5years now since I first discovered them when I was living in Spain.
Having seen people struggle with other big named brands, I have persuaded family members to change over. They are happy too now.
5 years on I'm very happy with the software, better value with 3 licences, it updates automatically - no need for intervention - just leave it to get on with it...ideal for parents who don't understand PCs!! And it now has an online scanner which is constantly updating as an additional level of protection (included).
The team in the UK also has a technical forum for any glitches. Usually posts are answered promptly with a resolution.
So, all in all, I have no problem recommending Panda Internet Security
