My daughter bought me this for my birthday, cant stop playing it full volumn in the car. Cry everytime it gets to "slipping thru my fingers" I can really relate to this song. A must for every Abba fan and even some who aren't. All the cast did a fantastic job with all the songs, some better than others.

...for this soundtrack, I don't think I could have coped without the songs whist waiting for the film to be released. I listen to it in the car, on my iPod, on my laptop - it's sad (and I really don't know much about what's out at the minute) but I didn't want to lose the feel good feeling I got when I left the cinema.
Rating: - Disappointing
I was disapointed with the cd because the songs werent the same as the movie and you didn't get the fun and the energy with it. Otherwise it was very well recorded and they all sound amazing just shame that they changed it so much. Think this is worth buying if you love all the songs on it and prefer a more mellow version. Can't wait for the movie to come out now
Rating: - Mamma Mia - exciting, feel good, glad to be alive sound track
Being a stout ABBA fan from their glory days after winning the Eurovision with Waterloo I tread carefully when being injected with any take-off of their music. However no reserve needs putting in place in my opinion as this just comes across as feel good Abba one hundred per cent. Obviously we're never going to get the vocal range that Abba had but for feel good, solid enjoyment, love of music, crowd appreciation, this delivers one hundred and ten per cent. Abba appeal to all generations and will never lose their appeal. Be surprised if you don't find yourself joining in as it's hard to resist! Was surprised at some of the tracks missing from the film following the stage show but ultimately Abba haven't made a bad record so wasn't too bothered.

Ok lets be honest, if you don't like Abba, if you didn't want to see the film / stage show then of course you're not going to enjoy this (why would you?) but for the rest of us this cd is a wonderful addition to an incredible film.
Firstly, on the negative side there are a few songs from the film which haven't made it onto the CD which is a shame as it doesn't feel complete somehow.
However, to hear Ms Streep singing "The winner takes it all" is worth the album alone. The power, emotion and last note still gives me goosebumps when I listen to it.
All the male leads singing the lesser known "Our last summer" is a wonderful rendition and is sure to become a favourite song for those who may not have heard it.
My own personal disappointment is Pierce Brosnan singing "when all is said and done" which is my favourite Abba song and it has nothing to do with his singing skills, but they have slowed down quite an upbeat song and personally it doesn't suit the ballad treatment.
This album will have you singing along all the songs you loved from the film, and who knows, there may be a follow up CD with the songs they have missed first time around
