Is this an economics book?
We seem to be in a situation where apparently there are people who want things. This is pretty normal. Often economics is described as the study of unlimited wants in the fact of limited resources. In this case individuals make choices based on their constraints to maximise utility. Adam Smith should have just realised that if you just wanted something you would get it.
