My main issue with this book is that most of the recipes are simply variations of each other. I mean there must be at least a dozen variations on Boston Cream Pie--does anyone like Boston Cream Pie that much? (Apart from the author, obviously) The book seems made up of cheesecake, the aforementioned Boston Cream Pie, fruit tart, and cream pie variations. It just seems like she could have suggested a few variations and left it up to readers to experiment. Now, I have to confess I haven't actually made anything out of this cookbook--I just haven't been inspired--maybe the lack of pictures?
