I've had one of these machines for 30 years and it's still going strong and I do make pasta quite often. There is no doubt that home-made lasagna in particular is better than anything you can buy as you can roll the dough so thin that it becomes very fragile if it is left to dry for more than a an hour or so. I usually make it and cook within an hour. I find it's best to make a pretty pliable dough (1 egg to 70 to 80 g of pasta flour--no salt) that I kneed for about 8 to 10 mins, rest for 15 mins or so (covered with a cloth) and then roll and fold into three about 20 times adding a little flour to the outer surface to stop sticking at each rolling.
