This is a superb cook book for both newbies and seasoned cooks and has some truly mouth watering recipes. the only drawback is that the measurements are in american (ie cups etc) this is remedied though as there are conversion tables in the back.

Soups and Stews

I've been quilting (self-taught) for 18 months and bought this book about 6 months ago, so I'm not quite a beginner but still have plenty to learn. I use it as a reference work, but unfortunately I have learnt to use it with a pinch of salt. I made the mistake of using one of the tables for calculating how to cut a certain type of triangle. Thankfully I double-checked with a template before cutting my fabric, as the formula given was wrong, although I then had all the trouble of cutting fabric with two sets of markings on it. The formula for calculating the width of binding is also incorrect. I've not checked any of the other formulae, but I'm extremely wary of using them now.
I have been cross-stitching for over 20 years and have many books on the subject. I can honestly say 2001 Cross Stitch Designs outshines any of the numerous books and magazines I have accumumiated over the years including books from different Countries. There is a motif for every occasion, an alpherbet for all and boarders to suit samplers, cards, napkins, tablecloths etc. etc.etc. This one book will save me endless hours looking for the perfect motif for the occasion I am stitching , as everything is there in one book.

I have been working on making a quilt with 225 of the 4 inch squares in this book. Each little square is a masterpiece and after over 200 in a two year period I am not looking forward to the end of this project. I've made 3 other quilts in the interim, but when I really want to have fun, I pick up this book and make another little square.

Just would like to say that this book is great and very helpful. I remodeled my bathroom in no time and had this book next to me the whole time. Kitchen backsplash also was a breeze. Great reference and tiling "bible".
