This is a beautiful book packed with both clear and concise instructions for creating both familiar and unusual blooms in sugar. The familiar rose, iris, magnolia and orchid all appear in fantastic detail alonside a range of succulents and wonderful plants with names such as akebia, rothmania and tweedia to name only a few! Trust me they might not be instantly recognisable but their colour shape and form make welcome additions to accompany our well loved favourites. Alan Dunn fans will certainly not be disappointed. There is plenty of new material to enjoy and marvel at. Sections on creating wonderful arrangements are a welcome addition to give ideas for displaying all the flowers and foliage. Yet another beautifully produced book from the talented Alan Dunn. There is a good introduction with details on equipment, techniques and recipes. The flowers (32 of them) are very unusual - most not found in other sugarcraft books - and each one shows step by step instructions with photographs. There are thirteen sprays and arrangements and fifteen cakes; all with details of how to achieve them.

This beautiful book contains over twenty displays of sugar orchids - sprays for cakes, plants displayed in pots, a bridal bouquet, floral arrangements. Each display contains step-by-step details for making not only the orchids but also the flowers and foliage that accompany them, from the exotic to the well-known, often little-used such as sage and silver birch! These flowers can all be made in sugar or in cold porcelain. There are templates of all the cutters used in these displays. An excellent book for all sugarcrafters.

Another beautiful book from Alan Dunn. It gives step by step details for making exotic sugar flowers, some very unusual. It is easy to follow and he has some excellent ideas for sugar flower arrangements both freestanding and on cakes. I think this is a must for all sugarcrafters -a wonderful addition to the bookshelf.

When I began as a cake designer several years ago, alan's book was indespensable; I still find it so today. His step by step instructions are easy to follow,the pictures excellent..the flower colourings are most helpful. The outcome of following his instructions seems to me succssful every time.
