I was curious as to how the CLimax of the series was going to take place.
I thought.. where, how is it going to link, how will they find each other.. whats going to happen, will there be a battle of some sorts. but no.. Maerad and Hem are led to each other by fates way.. they are guided.. and the defeating of the darkness isnt overdone... its impressive, simple, effective, and it made me sad that it ended, but glad because it wasnt rushed. the endings of soem books can be rushed and tied off loose ends for the sake of it, but this was done well. well thought out, well written and was a fantastic end to a brilliant series.

All 4 books of this series are brilliant.. and as previous reviews said, the size of the books are daunting, but the content of them is immense, the story soon encaptures you, and your waiting for the next book to come.. BRilliant.. i love how Every little detail of the history of the land in the book and how everything is so mysterious and supernatural in a sense.

This book is incredible! i read it in 1 day as i couldn't put it down and sped through it. Alison's desciptions were first class and it left me wanting for more, you can believe that these world's nd poeple exsit. :)
Maerad's/Cadvan's relationship is very intense and when they argue it made me feel sad and i can really relate to it.
When Arkan comes in to the picture it is obvious, to me, that maerad and him are destined to belong together and the small reactions and emotions that they show when they are together sends shivers down my spine.
My one critisism is that Maerad and Arkan really should have kissed once just before he reads the runes on her lyre it would have just completed the whole "Je ne sais quoi" ... Read More:

I ahve to say, when i started reading i was rather annoyed that it was Hems tale, i ahd become so wrapped up in maerads tale that all i wanted was that.. i didnt want to know what hem was doing. but!! i dare say, the book was still fantastic, living up to the previous 2.. and i couldnt put it down.. im glad its a whole book about Hem, because if it alternated between Hem and maerad it wouldnt be the same.. it had to be all about hem so that the whole link between him and maerad can be 100% established for the 4th and final book, i wont spoil it.. but i ahve to say, it lived up to these ones.. as we know sometimes the 3rd and 4th books can suffer.. but theese didnt. these were crafted with love alll the way through.
