I initially took this book out of the library and was very pleasantly surprised after finding most other baby cook books a bit of a waste of time. I now find that it is the book I turn to most when out of ideas for meals for my baby. There are plenty of good recipes and it is well presented. And, while I don't worry about 'meal planning' or detailed nutrition to a great extent, the simple indicators of vitamin and mineral content were interesting (maybe something similar for salt content could be added). The only bugbear is the lack of an index for recipes - irritating.

I bought this for my wife whilst she was newly pregnant. I don't profess to know much about pregnancy(!) but I know that my wife swears by the practicality of this book and wanted to make sure that I spread the word!

Vegetarian Pregnancy and Baby Book (Mitchell Beazley Food) (Mitchell Beazley Food)

This is a good all round book for anyone who wants a bit of information on either or both veggie pregnancies and weaning. It has recipes for both mum and babies, but is not solely a recipe book. It gives advice on diet and essential vitamins and minerals with examples of meat alternatives. The sections are well laid out and easy to read and I am finding it very useful now that I have started to wean my baby on a vegetarian diet. I refer to this book alot as it is concise and to the point and gives me the confidence to know that I am doing the right thing for my baby. I feel that this is a good starter book for anybody considering veggie weaning but if you are solely after recipes then this is probably not the book for you.

This has got to be the must have book for anyone starting to wean their child. Unlike other baby recipe books this one has hundreds of meals made out of simple foods that you will have in or be able to get hold of easily - no chasing around for obscure ingredients! Suggested meals go from 4-6 months of age up to meals for one year olds, so it's not going to be a book that you will have grown out of quickly.

I was so pleased to have this book recommended to me. It was full of practical advice - it was my first pregnancy and as with all mothers I was paranoid about what I should and shouldn't eat! This was full of nutritional info and great recipe suggestions! Nothing else in the market was as thorough as this! I'd recommend for any first time mothers. (I now have a beautiful, HEALTHY, daughter)

Having been a vegetarian for around ten years I have condsidered becoming a vegan to boost my immune system and have a general feeling of well being. 'The new vegan'was my bible- I found the book very supportive in my decision to become a vegan.

In 'The New Vegan' Amanda Grant offers practical advice, tips and tantalising recipes to show that veganism is not boring but a modern way of achieving a balanced diet. Her easy to prepare recipes leave you spoilt for choice with recipes ranging from Asia to Europe. A vast array of unusual and nutritious meals are available to vegans. Kids' Kitchen: Good Food Made Easy (Mitchell Beazley Food)

Fantastic book - a friend bought it for my 11 year old beautiful but fussy daughter for christmas 2005. She started on the marinated chicken, devoured the chocolate mousse and dabbled with the fish in breadcrumbs. Once she had run out of recipes she moved on to Annabel karmels cooking books, and now 2 years later is using Jamie Oliver, Delia and Nigella Lawson to her hearts content.
This was an incredible book for helping her get around her food mistrust, and because she is preparing and cooking from scratch her confidence in trying new things has increased tenfold. If you have a fussy child, before anything else, get them in the kitchen with you, using books like this one to help them select the food and get creative in how to cook it. ... Read More:

I have only had this cookbook for a few weeks but so far it has provided me with nothing but delicious meals. Not only is it packed with tasty recipes; it is also loaded with good advice about healthy eating and general information about children's nutritional requirements. The recipes are easy and don't contain too many hard-to-obtain ingredients, as so many cookbooks do. They also result in food that the whole family can enjoy without resorting to salt for flavouring...especially important for the little ones. In addition to telling the cook how many children's and adult servings the recipe yields, it explains why each of the chosen ingredients in that recipe are helpful in meeting daily requirements for a well-balanced diet (e.g., the cheese ...
