Such a great little book! There are a lot of recipes for a very decent price here, and they work!No entertaining anecdote to introduce the recipes, true, but then there are quite a lot of books which do that elsewhere, I personally find the format of the book as well as the number of great recipes presented quite handy as I can take it with me when I go away. Well worth buying if you enjoy baking.

I am a huge fan of the 101 books and I own a few of them but I have to say that this isn't one of the better ones. The choice of dishes aren't particularly interesting or inventive and a lot of them aren't even hot or spicy. I really struggle to find recipes that I would want to make and tend not to pick this up when looking for inspiration.

I love this package!!! It is the nearest you'll get to an evening class in Spanish.
It does take a bit of time to work out how the course will best suit you but that is the beauty of it - you do what works for you. A previous reviewer missed the point about the accompanying CD - that is an extra to the course and is just a dialogue which you can follow in the book. It isn't intended as a 'learn as you go along'.
The best thing about this package for me is that you can practise speaking and listening back to yourself speaking spanish. In most courses you can practise phrases but only in your head. It's completely different saying them out loud - when everything you think you know goes completely out of your head. ... Read More:

Agree absolutely with A Customer (!) - I had to give up my evening class, so needed something that I could, and would, do at home. This is perfect. It puts you in the most familiar situations that you are likely to encounter in France, and allows you to build confidence and language skills at your pace. Every so often, to keep my skills sharp, I return to previously learnt areas yet still find it stimulating and enjoyable. The graphics and activities are both useful and enjoyable. If you want to learn real world French for holidays and visits, this is the perfect starting point.
Only one gripe - and its a major one. The program runs from the cd, so there are noticeable lags between answer and response. Surely it could have been designed to install ... Read More:

This book is taking football apart and making it a lot more interesting to follow across Europe. I love the presentation of the book and that it gives you a handle on the best and worst players in each position in Europe. It seems to have endless pictures AND manages to cover the major leagues in Europe as well, yet it is fresher and more up-to-date than its more history- conscious rivals.
If you're a genuine statto then get the Sky book which is unbeatable for the history of the game in the UK. But if you want to knows who's playing well right now, who to pick for fantasy teams, and a European perspective on teams and players then this is head and shoulders above anything else in the market.

Lovely book, captures their interest young with the pictures, characters and feely bits. Helped my daugther to recognise her numbers at 19 months.
