So many books are thick, wordy, and conceal their nuggets of wisdom, but not this one. It's not big, so you won't find full details on (eg) all of the many Linux email clients - but they get a mention.
Works well for me (ex BSD 4.x sysop in the 1980s) as well as friends with no previous knowledge of operating systems. It's the examples that are such a help - most of the things we've needed to do are covered with a brief, relevant example. We use it with Ubuntu mainly - Debian distros are not identical to Fedora but we've not seen a problem - both are Linux and conform to the POSIX standard.
Reading it cover-to-cover is logical, informative, and highly recommended. Three times, and the info is starting to stick..... Then keep ... Read More:

If you enjoy reading about Liverpool then this will occupy a few hours and stimulate your memory of those glory nights at Anfield and the beer fuelled European trips that followed them. I`m a season ticket holder, love to watch Liverpool and love to read about them too. If you like thriller stories then try Soft Target by Conrad Jones, football and terrorism set in Liverpool, its shocking. Back to this one though,Seven European Cup finals. Seven fans. Seven amazing adventures following the team they love. This book celebrates the achievements of Liverpool FC in Europe, and in particular a love affair with Old Big Ears - the European Cup. It's an ongoing affair that began with the legendary and, in those days, unprecedented exodus of 30,000 Liverpool ... Read More:

This is the first book in this series and the first by this writer. As previous reviewers have noted the book is set in a small town which is full of bookstores. Being a booklover myself I could not resist. The owner of the murder mystery bookstore is the herione and I warmed to her from the beginning. There is an obvious frisson of animosity between she and her sister and the reasons for this are developed well throughout the book. Although this is not an edge of the seat tale I did enjoy the story and I thought the plot developed well. This evolved around the murder of the bookstore owner next door and there were enough twists and turns to keep you reading. Unlike a previous reviewer I thought the story was well written, the plot interesting and the ... Read More:

I ordered this one three seperate times from amazon stores before eventually recieving my copy through amazon but I tell you it was well worth the wait! This has to be my most recommended book for people who enjoy home baking! This book contains almost any biscuit recipe you can think of and also includes savoury crackers, muffins, scones and traybakes! It has a lovely section at the front which gives you some insigt into the history of cookies and biscuits. I haven't put this one down since buying it! If you are going to buy one book dedicated to baking cookies buy this one!(it even gives you hints on wrapping and packaging biscuits as gifts!!

When I first got this book i thought 'Oooh i can't wait to read it' but after reading the first few pages, I have found it slow. The characters are interesting but the plot development is slow and after a while of trying to ignore the fact that its slow, in the end i had to put it down. I must admit it is a good book but its slow in places.

This is a superb book written by David MacDonald. Professor MacDonald is in charge of the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit at Oxford University, and has published very many scientific papers concerned with many mammal species. This book reflects his immense knowledge and experience, but in an interesting and readable form. Included in the book are all the mammals which any-one is likely to see in Great Britain and Europe, as well as useful information about how and where they live.
All this in a hardback format which can be used as a proper field guide. And at a fabulous value for money price - especially when you consider all the information contained in the book. If you are at all interested in mammals, buy a copy for your-self; and a second copy for the school ... Read More:
