Contrary to the other reviews, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had that, 'Just one more chapter' quality that meant I'd read it within 24 hours!
Granted, there is some poetic license used occasionally... but to be honest, every great book has this... James bond has done alright for himself out of it.

After reading many of Chris Ryan's other books (and finding them all fantastic), I was thoroughly looking forward to reading this. However, I found it very slow and tiresome to start, and it was sometime before the main part of the story came up. The main let down I feel was the storyline. I found it complicated with so many different people's names coming up and, to be honest, I never truly understood what was going on. However, as usual from Chris Ryan, the action scenes kept you reading and the twist at the end certainly helped the story. Overall: a good read but not up to Chris Ryan's usual standard.

this book is partly good and sometimes not good. the good side is there is alot of flood action and the bad side is it gets boring so.
if you like action and are preapeard to wait for action its a good buy. but if you like books full of great scenes this is not a great book for you. so i would possibly reccomend this book.

I read the first half of this book over the course of a lunch break and then the second half in the evening about a week later and with the book finished, I was left with just one overriding thought - my God, that was good!
This is the first book of Christopher Ryan's I've read and I think it serves as an ideal introduction to his style. There's a matter of fact nature to his words that comes across as immensely assuring - crucial in conveying the military details that form the crux of his novels. What makes this novella so intriguing is the way it begins with the protagonist completely unsure of who he is. Thus, as he gradually re-discovers his memories, you are learning at the same rate as him ... Read More:

This was the first Chris Ryan book I brought, the line at the top of the book 'Who wins the SAS or the Navy SEALs', caught my eye. In fact I am still waiting to find out, the book only has a very small mention of SEALs (or SEAL) and he is working with the SAS.
I found the book to be a very average read. Mr Ryan is a good writer and the descriptions were very good, however the story line very average.
There are many better SAS story books on the market.

Continuing straight from Stand by, stand by, Chris Ryan digs right in from the moment you open the book. Starting off with great suspense, Ryan quickly moves onto the action with a mission to assassinate a man who has caused Sharp nothing but pain. With attachable characters and a great story, this book was never going to get less then five stars. Keep it up Ryan!!!

Before i write this revew i have to say that i am a modern warfare fanatic and have read books like 'Black Hawk Down' by Mark Bowden,'Bravo Two Zero' by Andy Mcnab,'3Para' by Patrick Bishop and Countless other Fictional Books by Andy Mcnab and Chris Ryan, anyway get to the point this book is one of the best of them and probally equally gripping as 'Black hawk down' when i first read this book i thought he was downright over confident but at the end I truelly beleaved he had the right to be confident seeing as he survived Terrible Conditions,No food,No water (apart from little amounts and some that had nuclear waste in it) and the end i thought how in earth did he survive just how i felt about some of the people involved in Black Hawk down
anyway ... Read More:
