"Brock" (as it's known!) is without doubt not just the best Microbiology textbook available but one of the best textbooks period. The book is logically set out, beginning with basic introductory material covering areas such as how we define a microorganism, cell structure, evolution, diversity and biochemistry before moving on to more complex general topics, including microbial growth, bioenergetics, catabolism and molecular biology. Brevia on Virology and Mycology are given, before moving on to the main sections on Bacteria and Archaea, arranged in terms of the taxonomy used in Bergey's Manual (the Microbiology Bible), going through the Proteobacteria by Class before covering Gram positive Bacteria and all the other various groups. Archaea ... Read More:

This is one of the finest books that I have ever read. It is invaluable for both an introduction to CBT and as a handbook for experienced researchers and clinical professionals. I cannot rate it too highly. Whilst I would not normally use a book published in 1989, this book is so good that this is not really an issue.

A dangerous book. Anyone daft enough to believe it comes away thinking that Buffett looks at historic eps growth, assumes that continues for 10 years into the future and assumes the 10 yr average p/e will be applied in 10 years. Apply that return to the nominal return from T-bonds & take the higher. Anyone with even a basic knowledge of securities valuation and behavioural science (the latter tells you that such eps growth extrapolation is why growth stocks underperform value stocks) knows this is utter nonsense.

I have read all of the books on Warren Buffett. This is by far the most entertaining, well thought out and amusing books on the subject. I don't have to be a pundit on analysis, to understand the genius of Warren Buffett. This is a pick up and read testimonial to his most feverent philosophies.
a must read for anyone interested in the worlds greatest investor. !!!

Certainly one of the best books I have, excellent exposition of the investment valuation and ideas, particularly the key points, sometimes a little confused because insist in the use of a calculator rather than offering formulation which is the academic and logical approach to expose mathematical ideas and concepts. Excellent excersises. Ideal complement Buffettology. This two books are some of the best of my book collection. This concepts maybe should be teached at school??

I'm an experienced developer in HTML and CSS so I thought I'd try my hand at my first real programming and hop on the latest band wagon of Ruby on Rails.
I boldy read my way through Chapters 1 and 2, having to refer to the web for definitions on acronyms I didn't know and re-read some of the particularly jargon-filled paragraphs that made assumptions about what I already knew thinking "Ok, it seems a bit tricky, but I understand the concepts so I'm sure I'll get the hang of it once I hit the real examples." I didn't even get to the real examples.
The installation section is a real let-down. Using Mac OS Leopard, I am informed that I have all of the tools, I just need to enable them, where it then tells me to go on a load of web sites ... Read More:

David and Rebecca Clark Carey's book is a most useful and timely addition to the resources of any professsional voice user; acting student; or teacher of acting or drama. For any serious teacher of voice it will become essential.
David and Rebecca's book documents an approach which blends their own playful and improvisational voice work with other influences. And it does this remarkably deftly, borrowing from other teachers respectfully but tilting and turning their work to blend it with the author's own very particular approach.
The technical information and illustrations are accurate and clear with much more detail than any other practical book on voice training but without being overwhelmimng - and the exercises themselves, supported ... Read More:
