I don't know whether it's fair to review a book you haven't read in it's entirety but I have flicked about a lot and really, really tried to read it. I found Ceri a hard character to like or even dislike; she was just very flat to me. The writer tries too hard and to me the humour is just not funny. I also found the dialogue a bit artificial. "Oh Ceri", Jess said, "that'll cost you a fortune!". Straight out of Enid Blyton or was it First Term at Mallory Towers? I'm stuck with this on holiday. It's going in the pool.

When Kendra Tamale returns to England from Australia she rents a room from Kyle, a separated father of two, and begins a new job. She's looking forward to a fresh start and a simple life.
Kyle's six-rear-old twins, Summer and Jaxon, have other ideas and quickly adopt Kendra as their new mother, mainly because she lets them eat marshmallows for breakfast. This was my first ever Dorothy Koomson book and I loved it. The book was heartwrenching at times and laugh out out loud at others.
Tegan, Ryn's best friend's daughter is absolutely adorable, with her innocence and her love for both Ryn and Ryn's lover, Luke.
Devastation and betrayal starts the book but it ends in happiness. Through the story, Koomson explores the betrayal by a best friend with a fiance, writing so realistically that it could be real. Ryn's character is full of depth and Koomson portrays her perfectly.
The story tugs at the heartstrings and make you cry and it could not have been written any better.
Amazingly written. I loved Nova, and we get to know Leo, even though he is in a coma. I cried buckets over this book, but it made me smile too. The friendship between Nova and Mal is a wonderful friendship, one that not everyone gets to have. You hate Mal at times, but also feel sorry for him... same with Stephanie. Whom you begin to understand as the chapters go on. Surrogacy is a controversal topic, but it beatifully done.
I would put this down as one of my favourite ever books, I certainly read late into the night with it. And was sad to finish it.
