The first novel I read by this author was Copycat which I loved and which inspired me to try her others. This one is gripping, slightly different in style I thought to her usual books, but I loved it anyway. Excellent.

Although this quite entertaining (it was like a movie script), it was very predictable - I figured out who the killer was half way through the book - and the dialogue and relationships were pretty cheesy, very american. I was rarely in suspense. I much prefer british authors, as the mood is more real and less hollywood.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were great and i had no idea who could be the killer. Will definitely read another book by this author

This is my first Erica Spindler book i've read and it will definately be my last. I was drawn into buying this book because of the comparisons to Karin Slaughter and Kathy Reichs in the inside cover. It sat on my bookshelf for over a year and I decided to pick it up and give it a chance the other week.
The pace really wasnt there and the book never really got going. The characters werent likeable and as a reader I couldnt care less about their mundane lives. The plot 'twists' could be seen coming a mile off and the writing was just plain terrible. And the less said about the pointless sex thrown in the better. I won't be reading another of Spindlers books and i'd advise you to do the same.

This was my first book by the author and unfortunately, it will most likely be my last. Ok, so the story was bearable but was it just me who noticed the appalling English? Sentences that didn't make sense? I appreciate that it might be a translation (as it was first printed in Spain, I think) but I wasn't impressed by the translator!

This is the first book I've read by this author. I was intrigued by her latest novel 'Copycat' so I thought I'd catch the drift, as it were before deciding to buy this one.
Well, I certainly wouldn't want to live in Charlotte. All the women have suffered abuse, all the blokes are decidedly flaky and despite a clean murder sheet in the town, we suddenly find there are 12 unsolved murders lying in the background.
The story is pretty well put together but the clues to the killer are there for the taking unless you are sidetracked somewhat. However, having twins in our family, I find it difficult to accept that the one didn't know the feelings of the other upon which the final denouement hinges! Also, how a standard sized woman can sink a 330lb ... Read More:
