The layout of this cookbook is so user friendly, very cleverly it has a picture key which makes is very easy to use. The all recipes are clear and easy to follow.
I own at least 100 Veggie coobooks but this is my most used.

It simply is the easiest and most useful cookbook I have ever used. I've grown up with this book as I was 4yrs old when it was published and my mum used to use it for basic home cooking. Since then she has developed a whole library of cookbooks but I still go back to this one, as it simply is the best. I use it regularly to this very day, have even memorised some of the recipes, and have already requested from my mum to buy me one when I leave home :) Absolutely anyone and everyone will find this book useful.

This book appears to be one of a series of books by Good Housekeeping that showcase over 100 easy recipes in a particular category - in this case pies!
There are six sections to the book: basics; savoury pies and pastries; meat, fish and vegetable tarts; sweet pies and pastries; classic sweet tarts and indulgent dessert tarts.
The basics section shows you how to make each different type of pastry (shortcrust, puff, flaky, choux etc) as well as having a few recipes for accompaniments. Not the world's greatest cook but I can hold my own when it comes to experimenting with ingredients. This series is fantastic....really colourful and easy to follow recipes and with nutritional information included for all recipes - it's a godsend! Now I don't feel so guilty when I'm making the Thai Noodles with Prawns recipe or the strawberry and chocolate muffins recipe from the book.Go grab a copy I say...there are about 10 different titles to collect.

This is a great book, however it was just as great when it was first published in 1996! This is exactly the same book as 'Good Housekeeping Aga Cookbook', its just in a new cover with the word 'new' added (which it isn't).
However all this confusion aside the recipes are easy to follow, not too fussy, and produce real food as can be expected by Good Housekeeping.
