I'd have preferred more text, and particularly, some advice on what to do with the piles of lime pickle I might spend a month making - no indication in the book about whether you can bottle it, hate to think I'd have to eat it all up in a week! Still, some good recipes, but not a "bible" - I'm still looking for that one.

The recipies are as easy to follow, as are the ones handed down by my mum and my gran. This is not a comprehensive book of preserving, but it has some good ideas, and if you have the courage, the recipies are easy to adapt for whatever you want to use. The mango chutney recipe is a must for all lovers of Indian pickles, and can be adapted to use lime or grapefruit, instead of the listed lemon or orange.
