Learn all you want about the first black HW champion. From his early days in Galveston, TX to his domination of the Tommy Burns to win the championship, get the scoop from the man himself. This was originally published in 1927, so 20 years or so of his later life are missing. That doesn't take away from Mr. Johnson's excellent tome. The only caution you should observe is not to take everything written as the gospel truth. This reprint has footnotes by the editor to warn of any inconsitencies, so you will be fairly safe. A must read for any boxing fan.

In January 2003, me and two mates took the long way from Denmark to New Zealand. There I made my music discovery of a lifetime - Jack Johnson. JJ is completely unknown in Northern Europe. I brought home the album Brushfire Fairytales, and throughout the summer 2003 everyone I knew listened to Jack. It's easylistening and still, at times, deep. It's summer, when it is best! This album is my absolute favourite of all. The hits that started me of are "Flake" and "Inaudible Melodies". Buy this album, and you won't be sorry....it's a promise! >>More Details |
