Books : Barbecue (What's Cooking)

Barbecue (What's Cooking)

by: Jacqueline Bellefontaine
1998-07

This cookery book is beautifully illustrated and the recipes well set out, easy to do and with the ingredients easy to pick out.

I particularly liked the Cook's Tips and the variation tips and unlike a lot of cookery books where you will only ever use a few favourite recipes, each page I turned made me want to try the recipe. It's the best cookery book I have bought in a long time.

Books : Chocolate (What's Cooking S.)

Chocolate (What's Cooking S.)

by: Jacqueline Bellefontaine
2001-09

A lovely cross-section of recipes ranging from all the old standards that you'd expect and a selection of some lesser known. The ingredients lists and instructions are nice and clear and each recipe is illustrated with a colour pic (to dribble over, if you're that way inclined and just prefer to look at the pics anyway...). All the recipes are very do-able and many are suitable for children. It's not a sexy book in the way that some of the chocolate cook books are these days, more of a 'friendly aunt you're always pleased to see'.

Books : Homemade Cookies: Tasty Old-fashioned Recipes

Homemade Cookies: Tasty Old-fashioned Recipes

This book is definetly worth five stars. It is full of wounderfull recipies, and most of them have brilliant pictures to go with them. The book itself is layed out in an easy to read way, and all the techniques used in the book are fully and clearly explaned at the front, so even the most novice of bakers can make wounderful cookies. Also, the book has a very loved sence to it, as it lookes old and has one of those ribbon book mark things.

I would definetly recomend this book to anyone, even thoses who have never baked before. There are so many recipies, you won't know what to make first. (I recommend the sour cream and raisin cookies.)
