What a versatile book, one which the primary bookshelf should not be without. The life story of a boy is told through the view through his window and follows the changes to his surroundings. Having no text the book is accessible to all age groups and abilities, offering plenty of scope for discussion and inspiration in literacy, PHSE, geography and art work. The pictures are interesting in their media as well as content and they almost leap out of the page at you!! Everytime I 'read' this book I am astounded at the number of new things which I discover in the pictures.

This is a great resource for geography at primary school. The superimposed pictures of hotels over the rainforest are a great discussion point on human effect

My son aged nearly 3 picked this book out of the library and I thought it looked boringly earnest at first. Upon reading and re-reading it with him I find that it is really subtle & complex & can be read on many levels. A true piece of literature for this age group, not the usual pap - highly recommended.

This book is great for both young and old. It is intriguing even though there are no words and the art is beautiful...so much so that I decided to buy her book called Home and was disappointed to now have two identical books but with different covers! So I would recommend that you buy one of them but not both!
