Cut out the gum-ball superheroes and enter a world where a hero will kill you as quickly as a villain. This imagining of a world where Xavier died is one of the most powerful visions of the X-Universe out there. The grit and doomed nature of the Age of Apocalypse comes through in every story, but you also have characters you care about and want to see escape what you know will happen eventually.
Only four out of five stars because some of the art isn't amazing. Dont let that disuade you from an excellent story that showcases characters regular X-book readers will know and not know all at once.

I've had this book a few months now and they all taste so good I am takng the trouble to say YES! Don't be put off by the rather high cost of the ingredients on average it costs about £[...] to make 1 pound of vice cream but the results are definitely worth it, so be good to yourself.

It may not be gritty, it may not be thought provoking but X-Men First Class is definetly one thing- fun.
First Class is a welcome return to 1960's style comics. Where most other X-titles are more dark and adult and sophisticated, First Class takes a more light hearted approach with fantastic adventures, happy endings and plenty of humour (I laughed out loud at the yearbook pages!).
Revisiting the original X-men in there younger days enables the writer to correct the inadequacies of the 1960's comic like giving Scott a personality, elevating Jean from a housewive heroine and allowing the story-focus to be more fairly distributed amongst the characters. However it also pays homage to the old days- the gang pop into Coffee A-go-go, ... Read More:

I found the book well paced and well written and it gave me, a beginner, a much better understanding of xml than I had previously. It isn't particularly practical but certain things were really well done - at last I've got a handle on namespaces and how to use them. Could have done with more xslt material and examples and it is very Microsoft orientated.
