Like most 5 year olds mine doesn't really relish the thought of a bowl of stew. But he sat and ate the in his words 'delicious' stew from this book tonight. The book is easy to follow and uses normal everyday store cupboard ingredients. I have used this book more than any of the 40 plus cookery books I have in my collection and have yet to find a dud recipe! As they say in all the best pitches if you only buy one book this year make it this one!The instructions are simple and you there is nutritional and storage information on each page. A most for family cooks everywhere !

I heartily recommend this book - I bought it a few weeks ago and refer to it most days just to get more tips and find out a bit more about what I am eating.

It provides what I consider sensible, realistic information about food and diet (i.e. it doesn't assume that we all want to ingest thousands of herbal remedies, but does assume that we want to think a bit more about what we eat). It lists sources of lots of vitamins and minerals, it suggests diets for various conditions, and it has great recipes (the ones I have tried are very tasty and it is really easy to calculate points if you are doing Weightwatchers like me as it has calories and saturated fats listed for each recipe) The food tables at the back are also useful indicators of what ... Keith Moon Stole My Lipstick

This is a must-read book for anyone who lived through - or is interested in - the pop scene of the swinging 60's and 70's. From it's quirky title to the updates at the end the book has everything - humour, pathos, anecdotes about many of the major celebs of that era and some great photos. The author writes about her early years as a pop journalist with endearing humility and I particularly liked the way she uses flashbacks to her childhood to link past and present allowing the reader to share her journey through teens to young woman. I couldn't stop thinking about it which is high praise from me.....and I'm not often prompted to write reviews!

Books : The Traffic Light Diet

The Traffic Light Diet

by: Judith Wills
December 20, 2004

...so probably won't sell! This book is an attempt to make working out what to eat as easy as possible. She puts foods into 3 colour coded groups which related to their calorie density and then you base your diet around eating a certain number of each group. No need to calculate or remember calories.

It's very healthy since it ensures you eat your 5 portions of veg/fruit a day and get most of your cals from healthy foods.

It has "treats" which enable you to have a glass of wine etc so you are not altering your life too much.

Overall it is a very sensible and sustainable way of approaching food. You get charts, recipes, various day-plan suggestions for different lifestyles plus a basic exercise plan.

I have always been very sceptical about the claims made in many diet books; Having tried so many myself and also having failed miserably, It was such a relief to discover that achieving my ideal weight for my height and maintaining it was achievable!
following the diet was very easy; I found the recipes simple, quick, using inexpensive foods, but also extremely appetising. They were practical too, easy for me to adjust the quantities to suit my family.
I did not feel hungry whilst following this diet, and following the graduated exercise programme with rest periods built in was brilliant. I would recommend this diet to others.

Top 200 Low Fat Recipes

This is the best, no I really mean, THE BEST diet/healthy eating cookbook I have ever, ever had. All my life I have had a battle with my weight, sometimes I win and sometimes it does, but for me, food is a pleasure not just a fuel - so for this reason, if a diet is punishing, boring and tasteless - I just can't do it.

Judith Wills is a real find for those of us foodies who do like to try at least to watch their weight occasionally. Only this weekend, I had my closest girlfriends to stay and prepared all our meals from the book and was greeted with much praise and contented sighs from my dining table!!!

Using wonderful, fresh, tasty ingredients, and putting them together in an inspired fashion - Judith has changed my dieting life, thank Heavens!!!

Books : Children's Food Bible

Children's Food Bible

by: Judith Wills

You know the story... what another cookbook... Then you ask yourself, 'do I really need another cook book?, well after reading through large sections of this book, YES... I think you do. Probably just like you we have got a large number of cook books at home, so what makes this so special and stand out from the rest.

Well, I have two young children and like so many parents I have this growing concern about the amount of junk food that is available and how it can affect the behaviour of our kids. There are fatty foods, additives, colourings and god knows what else in food today. The Food Bible contains lots and lots of information about these and other food and drink types (e.g. caffeine, canned food, etc), human diseases and disorders (eczema, cancer, colic, colds, ...
