"The Writers' and Artist's Yearbook" (W&AY), published by A&C Black, has a long-standing reputation as a 'must-have' for any writer looking to get into publication. While a number of similar books now exist - including "The Writer's Handbook" (TWH), published by Macmillan, and "Writer's Market" (WM), published by David & Charles Ltd - W&AY remains the original font of knowledge, and for me, the premier choice.

All of these books contain roughly the same extensive listings of publishers, agents, print media, producers etc, and in truth there is little to choose between them. Labyrinth

by: Kate Mosse
January 11, 2006

This novel contains two stories. One is set in Southern France in the Middle Ages, and evolves around Alaïs, a young woman whose father is a member of a secret society and who is a guardian of one of three books related to the grail. As the threat of war with the north becomes larger, he confides in her, and asks her to deliver a message to his leader in case something happens to him in his duties.
The other story takes place in modern day France. Alice Tanner, a volunteer at an archaeological excavation stumbles upon a mysterious cave with strange engravings, a sign of a labyrinth, some ancient artefacts and two skeletons. Her find triggers a chain of events that bring more trouble than Alice bargained for.

I must admit that I enjoyed reading ... Read More:

I bought this for my mum when she was going on holiday and she loved it so much that I had a read as well. There is a good mix of stories - some make you laugh and other's tug on the heartstrings. I loved the retro feel to the jacket and have it facing out on my book shelf!
