When choosing a menu selection, how often do we linger over the sauce description that accompanies a meat or fish dish? Personally speaking ... each and every time. Without trying, it is the prospect of a sauce taste-explosion that swings me - Light Lamb Gravy scented with Lavender Honey has to be more appealing than Lamb in a Tasty Sauce; and so it goes on. This book has revolutionised the way that I choose what we eat. Almost the best way to explore this book is to read through the various sauce recipes and then hope that it goes with what we have in the fridge. However, many of the recipes included are, unless you are a complete beginner, pretty much well known and hardly improve on one's intake of fruit and vegetables. I also presumed that the number of portions of fruit/ vegetables per serving of each recipe would be given, (not unlike calorie-counted recipes) but one is left to work this out for oneself. The Savoy, what a hotel & this book matches. Adleman is a wonderful chef & this book realy offers you a glimpse into the heady world of haute cuisine in one of londons top hotels.
Evey dish is sumptous, elegant and luxurious. The recipes are easy to follow and the reults are spectacular. If you want to impress or just indulge this is the cook book for you.
Some of the most famous people in the world have dined at this hotel and adleman includes some intriguing stories along wiht his recipes.
I highly reccommend every amature cook to purchase this book.
