If you want to lose weight and enjoy your food, this book will give you a head start. The recipes are really healthy...and although living in Spain, I have difficulty in getting some of the ingredients, it is easy to substitute with other low GI foods. My husband and I decided we had to change our diet but love fruit and vegetables. I tried a few of the recipes in this book and we are hooked. It helps to plan your recipes for the week, then , when you are hungry, you don't have to make a decision which may lead to buying a quick fix food!

I find with many cook books that the recipes are fiddly and time consuming and usually demand a pinch of one ingredient and a splash of another, and before long you have a cupboard full of rare spices that you are never going to use again. The book gives ideas for breakfasts, lunches and snacks as well as main courses, and gives a real variety of dishes. I haven't cooked all of them yet, but they are all appealing and all things that you could happily feed to non-vegetarian guests or family members, as I have done to positive feedback!

The only thing I thought was slightly ... Read More:

I have been following GI for many months now and have bought many GI books, mainly cookbooks. I decided to invest in a GI counter so that it would be easier for me to buy groceries; I did research the books that provide the sort of thing.

Since GI is very specific to the brand and not the type of food; i.e. Alpen Muesli will have a different rating to Tesco Value Muesli; the listings in this book are personally very helpful to me especially because they have many listings of Tesco foods, my main super market.
