what an amazing book. i read this book about 10 years ago and loved it so much that i could not put it down and all these years later it is still doing the rounds of friends and family. become transported to the swinging 60's of london town and you will become so encaptured with charity's life you will think you are living it along with her. you will not be able to put it down. highly recommended and you will not be able to stop at just this book, all her others are just as good however this rates as my favourite. any paullina simons and belinda alexander fans will LOVE lesley pearse!

Another outstanding book by Lesley Pearse. I have read quite a few of hers now and I am NEVER disappointed.
When I finished Camellia I felt like I had lost a friend. I'd love to read more on her and see how her life turned out - I know it is only fiction but I am hooked!
Only one thing though... I have also got the book Ellie that I purchased at the same time as Camellia. I read Camellia first and now I have started Ellie, I feel like I know all about her from the final chapters of Camellia. Should I have read Ellie first? I think so... Any comments on this? Thank you.

This is the 1st i have read OF LESLEY'S books. A Very interesting book from a historic point of view and yet i've always found history boring until i read a Lesley Pearse book!!! She definitly bring history to life. It is set in 3 time periods...1955, 1963, 1990/91 but at no point does this story become confusing or difficult to follow and 2 hours reading felt like 20 minutes. Have got trust me and rosie lined up!! Cant wait and hope they're as good. All i need now is more time!!!

My 1st Lesley Pearse book was A Lesser Evil which was brilliant, so I tried another one, Never Look Back, again brilliant. I am a book addict and decided to buy a pile of her books from Amazon - Trust Me is the 6th book that i have read in the last couple of weeks and this book is fantastic. She is a superb Author - stories very true to life and details of feelings are covered perfectly. I have experience with the adoption system and find that her writing of children in care and their feelings of rejection and heartache is exact. The feelings portrayed are not exaggerated or played down but true life - her story lines make the books an excellent read but at the same time teaching you something about the care system.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. Particularly because it is based on a true story. Mary Broad (Bryant) is awe inspiring. Her triumph over adversity, her determination, and the whole story of her and her fellow convicts should be taught in history at schools. I had never even heard of her before reading this book. I read on another review for the book To Brave Every Danger that Mary is worthy of having a statue erected in her name in Trafalgar Square - I couldn't agree more. I saw the dramatised version of her story on DVD, but it isn't a patch on reading the book. The TV company have missed so much out that you really must read the book, ideally before seeing the film version of her story. Mary was one great lady!

What a great book! You live with the main character, Matilda, throughout, more or less, her whole life. From flower girl to nursemaid to entrepreneur, from London to New York to the Wild West! If this woman wasn't fictional she'd be amazing. And the heartache, wow, no character should have to go through what she did. It's an amazing story that will capture your heart, have you spellbound and also have you in tears on a number of occasions. We done Lesley Pearse what a fantastic book!

I love Lesley Pearse, I think she is one of the best writers for ages. Her books always just sweep me along and this one is no exception.
Beth and her brother Sam loose both Mother and Father and are left with a half sister to look after. After finding refuge in a nice kind household they decide to go away to America to make their fortune. Needless to say it is not as easy for them as that and along with two friends they embark on an adventure to find themselves and their fortune.
I was reading away one evening and I suddenly realised that I was over half way through the book and I was so disappointed, every single one of Lesley books has had me enthralled, with a need to know what is going to happen. They are so easy to read and they flow with ... Read More:

The story of Laura Brannigan who is in a Scottish prison for murdering her best friend. Wrongly in prison as she didnt commit the murder. Out of the blue she receives a letter from an ex-lover Stuart. Stuart was her first and only true love but she betrayed him many years ago, despite that, Stuart is the only person that believes that Laura is innocent and is determined to prove it.
The narrative goes from past to present and back again throughout the story. The scenes from Laura's early life, the poverty and neglect and the later years of casinos, porn and the low-life were really well told and explained how Laura came to be in the situation she found herself in.
I loved this book and was so engrossed i was going to work tired as i wanted to see what happen to Rosie next!!! I came across Lesley Pearse by accident through being a new internet user.
