This book was given to me as a present - I would not have dreamt of buying it myself!
What can I say but that the thought process (seasoned with narcissism and treacled with worship of the self) which underpins this little book goes against all that I hold dear.
Further, it is downright bizarre and borders on the offensive at times. I will quote from it liberally below to support what I have said. Pseudo-religion for the bourgeoise, complacent and self satisfied.
"We are each responsible for all our experiences" (page xiii)
This is plainly wrong. We possess a human nature which is subject to the vagaries of the external world - famine, disease, earthquakes. These are simply ... Read More:

Affirmations cannot be dressed up as antyhing else, and ever since the first time we heard "Each and every day I am becoming better and better, etc," this seems to have caught on. A daily spoonful of Louise's special medicine is going to make 2008 a better year. Having had a peep at what is in store makes me want to absorb it all in one go.

This is a great CD. First side is Louise talking the affirmations and the other side is subliminal with music. I enjoyed it all and I play it every night before I go to bed. It has made a significant difference as I am more positive and confident within myself than I have ever been in a long time. I am looking forward to trying out some of Louises other cds. You won't be disappointed with your purchase so enjoy!!

I read the book in about half an hour, the first few pages were relevant and interesting, but the rest of the book, read like a list. In chart format, a whole bunch of diseases were listed, next to each was a comment on what may have lead to each condition. A positive affirmation was given for each listing.
I think the intention of the book, is for the reader to identify his/her condition and then regularly repeat the positive affirmation associated with it. We need to believe, the repeated use of the positive affirmation may help to reverse the disease process. All a little to brief for me, as I was expecting a little more insight on how to deal with each condition.
If you are reading this, you are ready to take the next step and assume responisbility for your own life through the way you think and act. This CD is full of love, positive affirmations and Louse L.Hay's soothing voice that will help you get there. Amazing. You can do it.

I use these when topping up on how I feel or a situation, and it works every time. The cards seem to work on some sort of vibrational connection, as everything in the universe vibrates. If I am giving off good vibes then it tends to work positively, as can bad vibes pick up on negative aspects of your life. So always a have a smile on your face when using them.

An excellent companion book to 'You Can Heal Your Life'. This book doesn't contain as many exercises and things to do as the first one, but has many more examples to help us see how our thoughts are creating our lives. She talks about forgiveness, and somehow you come to realise that forgiveness doesn't mean condoning bad behaviour, and may not have any effect on the forgiven ones, but that the very act of forgiveness can set ourselves free. I've gone through it, and it works! Why should I spend my time and energy on someone who's not worth the bother!
There are many other things in this book too, and if you're on the long road to personal development, it's a very handy guide to have with you.

I guess this is a natural progression from the book of healing by the same author, whereby self-hatred leads to illness, so naturally if you love yourself then it works in your favour. A very well written book.
