I find that the 'Dummies' books tend to dumb down the subject that they are covering. For me, the best book for learning how to meditate is 'Mindfulness in Plain English' by Bhante Gunaratana. It doesn't matter that it is written by a monk - you do not need to go to a monastery or have any religious beliefs to practice meditation. For me, Buddhist monks are the real 'experts' on meditation as they have 2500+ years of experience behind them!

My wife and I have use those recipes and to our surprise the food look visually appealing as well as delicious!
We have found the recipes easy to use. It took significantly less than than other vegetarian cookbooks (some of which are loaded with fat) took about 2 hours to make. On average, we found it took from 1/2 to 1 hour to prepare.
I also highly recommend reading Part One in Ornish's earlier book, "Eat more, weigh less". That essential section laid out, in depth, the foundataion for this book.

I had read Dr. Ornish's books about diet and health, and found them to be very helpful. Then, I read this one. This is by far the most important book that he has written, because how we handle our relationships with others is more important to our health than even what we eat and how we exercise.
A little of this information was familiar to me from reading the New York Times Science section, but most of it was not. Clearly the biggest disease of our modern culture is our estrangement from each other. For most of history, we lived with others in small, intimate groups.
