As a politics student, I've found this indispensable when writing essays on Political Theory. Providing clear introductions to the major thoughts and works of some of the most prominent Western Philosophers from Ancient Greece to the 20th Century, this book is simply a must-have for those of us who don't have the time to trawl through the complete works of Plato or Hobbes when we have an essay due in the next day.

This book is not aimed at the anorak-wearing programme collector. The whole point of the book is that it represents the true fans perspective - yes, some of the programmes are written on, some are creased - go up to the loft and drag you collection down and they'll be exactly the same, they have a real charm about them. This book represents the fans' eye view, not a perfect airbrushed history. Every league club is featured, with a lot of non-league as well. Thoroughly recommended.

Even I though, can't see the point in this book.
Basically the book is just a series of reproductions of the covers of football programmes published in the post war years to 1992.
Whilst I spent a pleasantly nostalgic half hour or so reading through it, thats all I got from the book. Surely the pleasure that the average football lover gets from looking through old programmes (which I admit to doing often) is not ... Read More:
