My 15 month old boy loves this book mainly because he loves opening flaps! We vary between this and the 'Where's Spot' book (where the flaps are easier to spot). He never seems to tire of them!

Money for old rope is the expression that springs to mind. Rod Campbell has a real niche in the lift-the-flap book market. His books have generally been very popular in our house so I ordered this to add to the collection.
Each page has a gift-wrapped flap with a picture of a present underneath. There is a small amount of text describing the present. If it wasn't for the illustrations of Christmas wrapping paper I would have thought I was re-reading "My Presents" which is fairly tedious to begin with. Still, the children like it. It adds a small amount of variety when it's brought out in December with the other Christmas stories. >>More Details |

My 13 month old loves this book and have to read it to her atleast 5-6 times morning and night - there is a whole stack of books in her room - but this is the one she always picks first. Great follow on from Dear Zoo.

My daughter loves this book. We received it for her 1st birthday and now own most of rod campbell's books which we reliously read every evening! As with all his books there are flaps to lift and things to feel. My daughter loves the tiger at the end and now roars wonderfully and puts her finger in his mouth to get bitten!

Absolutely the best book in the world. Both of my boys loved it - from the age of 9 months. It has more cellotape on it than the roll its self. I have just ordered a new copy as the old one was my sisters and its been through all my cousins as well. I would recommend it to everyone with small children.

This book is a complete classic that will delight children from a very early age. We started with this book when our son was about eight months old and he has enjoyed it ever since. Each page has an animal hidden behind card doors and toddlers simply love opening the doors to reveal the animal behind. Once again these animals give scope for further fun with parents doing the sounds of the animals, which in time children will copy. We found that when we did the animal sounds our little boy would carefully study what sounds we made, leading to our total delight one day when we heard the sound of a dog coming from our little boy. My grandchildren have lots of books here and both of the babies, now aged 13mths and 14mths, have enjoyed this book for a while. As they got older they pointed at pictures and chose their favourite pages, made appreciative noises and gave lots of smiles especially loving Teddy peeping out of the bath and having his own toothbrush. They finish by gently making sure Teddy is in bed with Buster.
What is lovely also is that the 4yr old can read it to his baby brother too. I really recommend having this book from an early age. >>More Details |
