This book is great, there is a big wide world out there and dipping into this when you have 5 minutes you are sure to find something to excite and interest you.
Obviously its not a guide book in the true sense but there are some fantastic sound bite nuggets in there that have inspired about 5 years worth of future holidays for me.

I have used this map for two trips around NZ, and will use it again for my third trip later this year as it is still in great condition considering the daily folding and unfolding that you inevitably do as you travel the length and breadth of this fantastic country. As it is small and lightweight it is ideal just to tuck in your suitcase or backpack no need to carry a big bulky map around.
A must for any NZ traveller, at a reasonable price.
I can't believe that the best feature of this map isn't made clear in the description. It is made of polyester film, therefore it is all but indestructible. Rain, clumsy folding or stuffing into pockets/handbags will do nothing to dim the brilliance of this fine map.
A clear enough scale to read all the street names, without being too large. Also, being indestructible, it can be folded and refolded to show just the part of town you are in (or searching for!)
There are only a couple of minor gripes. Firstly, the map would be better if it extended a way further north, as only half of Montmartre is shown. Secondly, the Metro plan is too small to read easily, and covers only the city centre.

This guide was ok and I read it before departing to south america, where I went to Peru, Chile and Boliva and it provided some good information but it wasn't as detailed as the footprint guide, which is the one we ended up taking. If you are visiting one main country in South America it's best to get a specific guide for that country. Generally useful to help you decide which countries you want to visit but not very in depth.

I have never given maps much thought before: Bought this map after amazon review recommendation.
Yes, excellent. Extremely easy to use & see where going etc. (Although also used another U bahn map as well as routes slightly more detailed than on Rough Guide map)
It covers Berlin but but you will need further maps for Wannsee & daytrips from berlin. Overall it was a much better city map than the one my companion bought out there. It folds well is slim & light & the coated paper is supposedly waterproof so map doesn't all fall apart after 1 day's use! Still looks unused.
I too shall look out for similar type of map for future trips.
