This is a must read for anyone who is finding life a little bit over whelming & wants to take control of their life again. A simple read that works on simple principles that just about everyone should be able to relate to and understand.
Read this book before you embark on anything else that's a bit heavier on the psychology side... you may save yourself a lot of time, energy & effort.

Absolutely brilliant book. Robert Spencer deserves a nobel prize for writing such a book. Brilliant book, until I read this book I really believed in all that propaganda about "how muslims are very peace loving and all that malarki." This book opened my eyes.

This is essentially the 3rd edition of 'Army Records for Family Historians'. The 2nd edition was published in 1999, when the National Archives was the Public Record Office. At that time the online catalogue was in its infancy and no documents had been digitised.
The new edition brings the previous edition up to date, but this has been done in a rather haphazard fashion. The book gives the impression that very little copy editing has taken place and there are many errors and inconsistencies of style. Some examples follow:
In the Acknowledgements on the title page verso, 'which has led me' appears as 'which has lead me'.
On page 9, after giving the address of the National Archives, the following sentence appears: ... Read More:

To cover 1001 Gardens in 960 pages is an almost impossible mission, yet Rae Spencer-Jones and his 70 contributors accomplished it.
Every garden listed in "1001 Gardens You Must See Before You Die" follows a standard listing format of designers, owners, garden style, size, climate, location and a brief description of the garden. Some of the gardens listed have half-page size colour photographs. This book is very useful for you to gain a rough idea of the gardens nearby when you visit a city, it'll let know know about the existence of a garden and help you decide whether to visit it or not. To this end, I think "1001 Gardens You Must See Before You Die" is successful.
Whenever I feel life getting me down I pick up this little book. A quick read with a simple but important message. It puts things into perspective and me right back on track.

A beautifully produced, comprehensive selection of some of the most famous, as well as less well-known, film posters from around the world. Organised by country, with occasional sub-sections on particular designers or film-makers, it is an essential buy for any poster fan or collector. My only quibbles would be 1) I'd love to have seen more text, more narrative history of the medium, as well as the fantastic illustrations; 2) it has made my wish-list about four times longer than it was. A terrific book, probably now the best overview on the market.
