Books : Who Moved My Cheese?

Who Moved My Cheese?

by: Spencer Johnson
July 04, 2006

Go here for the full review: http://joelj.co.uk/Default.aspx?tabid=42

This is, on the surface, a pleasant parable of change management, which can be applied in all walks of life. From kids to teens, from relationships to careers.

Wondrous Face: The Billy Fury Story

by: Spencer Leigh, John Fimminger
October 04, 2005

He relies on some interviews, but substantially on published sources, as he did not have the cooperation of Fury's family or, apparently, his long-time companiion Lisa Voice.
This is a coherent account, and creditably few errors of fact have been established since publication.

This book bridges the divide between the narrow conventional Christianity that so often sidelines or misunderstands creation and humanity's role within it, and the secular concerns about the planet and specifically climate change. Rowan Williams once reduced a radio interviewer to incredulity by saying global warming was a great moral issue that could impact adversely upon billions of people, but this fine survey of the science, and Christianity relevant to it, bears him out. The science, written by a Cambridge Professor of Geophysics, is authoritative and clearly set out. The biblical survey is similarly incisive, particularly the review of the relevant sections of Isaiah and the Old Testament in general. It provides a compelling call to arms for the Church ...
