I've just cooked another dinner from this book and yet again it was scrumptious as well as healthy. I'd recommend this book to anyone, not just those with diabetes. Yummy!

Some superb recipes. I love the apricot & all bran cake, very popular with my friends, but I added ginger after the first try. The nice thing is that this is an English cookery book, so we can easily get the ingredients. Thanks Antony.

I have recently been diagnosed with insulin resistance, and told I needed to follow a low GI diet. A recipe book created by a chef who was also diagnosed as insulin resistant seemed like an obvious choice, but I was very disappointed for several reasons.
First, most of the recipes do not seem practical for everyday living. Many of them have long cooking times and need perishable or unusual ingredients, and therefore need forward planning.
Second, I feel there is not enough information to enable the reader to make their own low GI recipes. There is GI table in the front, but over-simplified (for my tastes) into low, medium or high GI and not containing that many foods. Also, bread in particular may be low, medium or ... Read More:

At first, the new method may seem a bit complicated but it's definitely not! On the contrary, it helped me understand how to combine foods and then eat more and a greater variety of foods! Antony Worrall Thompson's recipes are delicious, easy to prepare and adapted to the whole family.
I have already lost 5 kilos in a month and I have never feel deprived!!! That is just a miracle!

I particularly like the idea that this is not simply a collection put together by one author but, rather, is a widely eclectic collection of food influenced by a variety of cultures. This is a fantastic book, the recipes are excellent, well laid out, some recipes are more fattening than others, but there is very clear nutritional information, on each of the recipes, to help you make the right choice.

My family love good, tasty home cooked meals and as a working mum I have turned to anthony again and again. We are working our way through this book at the moment and after every new dish I ask 'Would you have it again?' Nine times out of ten the answer has been 'yes please!' Anthony`s list of comprehensive store cupboard ingredients is superb as there is always something I can cook, even when the cupboard is virtually bare! The recipes are straightforward, mostly quick, and delicious. So what if it isn't haute cuisine. When you have three hungry boys who need to eat a balanced healthy meal at the end of the day, Anthony`s will do for me! He's even inspired my twelve year old to take up cooking......
