This is an excellent book. I have made quite a few of the recipes and every one has been a winner. I have used the sweet cream bases and created my own flavours based on their recommendations.
Please make sure that you whip the cream as the book doesn't state that you have to!
All receipes are very simple and easy to follow.

This cook book I have had since it first came out, it is the most worn out in my cupboard, it favours the everyday ingredients in our cupboards/larders, to if you fancy something a little more extravagant to try give it a go. It is writen in plain English and easily understandable with lots of good illustrations of completed meals and what they should look like.
Everyone needs this cook book from beginners to the entertainers.. Well worth the money.

Oh my god this is great for the beginner, I am just starting out and have gone Orgaic, this gave me so many great ideas, its a little bit of the quick version, you use a lot of ready made custard and ready made chocolate, but to start with thats what you want and if you want to that can be substituted for home maded custard base, great intro and large section on ice-cream such puddings like chocolate banana ice cream pie, and baked alaska!!! --- I whole heartedly recommend this book, so cheap but a real Gem!!!

"Cooking without made easy" arrived just in time for me to hand it to our daughter for her to cook our Ruby Wedding anniversary cake for the small family celebration we were having. She baked the rhubarb and vanilla cake, and instead of icing it she covered it with pink rose-petals. It looked good, and tasted delicious! In fact all the family enjoyed it, and now our granddaughter age 9 is looking forward to trying other recipes for me.
Until I bought this book, our family and friends would ask me to bring food for myself to any celebrations, as I am allergic to wheat and sugar (painful blisters on my lips)while milk products only set off an upset tummy and mild eczema. At last, people can make make me a treat which they can enjoy ... Read More:

Warning, this book does not contain any photographs. However, it does contain a wealth of period illustrations around the topic of ice cream, including a very interesting history of ice cream.
The book is well-written and its language is easy-going, but precise in descriptions, without being patronising.
Recipes are described in great detail and measurements are given in metric, US and imperial sizes. The book also gives many alternatives to ingredients, if the required ones cannot be found and there is even a more detailed section about the main ingredients to ice cream.
At the end, there is a section that explains (scientifically) how ice creams actually becomes ice cream, with the aim to enable you to make your own ... Read More:

Incomplete recipes for turgid slop! I have been a veggie for 22 years, and am a good cook/baker, so I thought I'd try this. It looks like a good idea (if you can get past the pseudo-science in the intro), but the recipes just don't work, that's if she's bothered to finish them - several had bits missing, which is just lazy writing/editing.

I was looking for a cake recipe that might turn out a bit like the gf muffins sold at costa coffee - I stumbled across this book in my local bookshop, bought it at full price, came home and started to cook with it.
I have bought a copy for a friend who is dairy intolerant, and recommended it to my son who is a coeliac.
Every recipe that I have tried has worked and been delicious!
