This book is a very influential read and lives up to it's purpose.
Mary-Kate and Ashley have done a great job interviewing the featured people and the books design is very nice. The book has a lot of interesting quotes and it was nice to get an insight into the lives of how the true "originals" grew up and got started in their fields (Karl Largerfeld, Lauren Hutton and Diana von Frustenberg to name a few).
A couple of not so good things: the book is very repetitive, but i guess i was expecting that.

This book would make a great gift to anyone interested in the "Olsen twins" but it also could cater to a much broader audience weather your a 40 year old woman or a 19 year old boy. It would also make a great coffee table ... Read More:

Set between the firefly TV series and the serenity movie this introduces dust devils, browncoat terrorists. If you have no idea what I am talking about watch firefly. Anyway because it is set between two established stories there is a limit to what the writers can do witht the characters. As a result the story isn't that strong, but the characters are excellenty written and it is a joy to read. roll on volume 3.

Having read and delighted in The Book Thief, I thought that I would give I am the Messenger a go. I was in Oz at the time and so the setting was perfect. It truly is a read in one sitting book. It may have been written for young adults but is a book that all can take from.

I admit, I'm bemused by this book. On one hand, I wanted to slap down five stars because it was so very compelling - I read it in two days, which is no mean feat when you're the working mother of two small children! But at the same time, while reading I kept having moments of, 'Hold on, that's just too implausible, even for a book about body-hopping ghosts.'
I think - at the risk of sounding flippant - that this book suffers for being the author's first novel. If it hadn't been, I suspect many of the things in it that struck me as rushed, superfluous or confused wouldn't have been there. I also think that the chosen (or assigned?) genre ended up being a detriment: yes, it's set in a high school, but the themes are very much adult ones. ... Read More:

I love The Truth About Forever and Just Listen and expected another romance, cleverly written and beautifully told. Although this story was a nice and quite moving tale of two sisters and their changing relationship, it lacked the depth, and the plot of Dessen's other books. And there was no romance at all. :-(

I think this is deliberate though as it wouldn't do to have a comic tell an important story in the firefly setting just in case a new series or movie is commissioned. While that looks very unlikely now at the time this was first published it was more of a possibility.
That aside this is Ok, the art is nice and the characters are recognisable. The plot is simple and a bit too light but the characters are portrayed well, its like a filler episode of a TV series.

I am assuming that the review below, copied from the `Comments' area of this item, was the original review that the other two reviews refer to - so well done to all who got it deleted from the system.
I couldn't agree more with these two reviews on this item - this is a blank baby book for parents to fill in, with photos and text, as their baby develops over those precious first 12 months.
What does puzzle me is the fact that it got a positive vote in the first place - unless the author is also guilty of voting for his own reviews which is quite possible given how his `helpful' votes whizz up - you only need to look back at the review pages to see how obtuse the subjects are and how suspicious the voting is, especially on items that have other reviews which have no votes ... This book is just fantastic. I have had such fun with my 4 year old. It is so much better than an ordinary colouring book making you use your imagination first then colouring in your creation! It is just so good and is ideal for a long journey or for taking on holiday or for just sitting in front of the fire for some quality time with your child.
