I loved this book... Fantastic photos galore as I had expected, but this book is far more than a glossy picture gallery. This was the first book of katie's that i read and i really enjoyed it. She is very forward about everything she says and isn't afraid to speak what's on her mind! Thats what i love about it, it's just about her. It's a great read and i would recommend anyone to get it, it would be money well spent! :)

This book is quite simply awful. Trinny and Susannah are scraping the barrel with this book and have obviously run out of ideas. They look terrible in a selection of joke shop wigs and ill fitting clothes and have no real understanding of what the icons they have chosen looked like. Terribly researched stocking filler rushed out for the Christmas market - avoid!

This book is a really wonderful present for all costumers and especially for those who is familiar with excellent quality of Janet Arnold's books. Not only "Patterns of Fashion 4" has all the values of previous Arnold's publications, it has more!
As usual, the book is divided into 2 parts: theoretical and practical, latter including patterns and drawings of artefacts. Just to point out some definite values - for one, there are very many color(!) photographs in theoretical chapter. It's possible to see any details of textile, embroidery, lace or simple seam. This is a gorgeous,sumptuous book. It works precisely because it let's Vivienne's clothes speak for themselves. The full page glossy pictures of the most influential designer of the 20th Century almost make you salivate. I used to shop at World's End and wore the original Pirate range, but even then I'd still forgotten just how stunning it was. If you are interested in fashion, music, history, art, literature, anarchy and chaos, then this is for you.

The book has a selection of mainly photographic images of varying quality and one or two fashion illustrations of yesteryear that are good examples of the visual idiom.
