This is an amazing item, I have tried many diferent techniques to learn Italian and this is by far the best. I really do encourage you to buy this you won't regret it. The voices used are really good as well, they saying everything clearly allowing you to understand quicker. The music is also an added bonus it allows the words to stick in your brain faster, and makes the experience alot more enjoyable. With this product its not a matter of having to use it, but you want to use it. Fantastic.

I bought this originally for myself as I am studying French, German and Spanish (for fun would you believe) but it is so easy to learn that my 7 year old has it on her iPod and we are starting to have conversations.
(I also speak to her in German at times and due to how easy these CD's are, she is able to have limited chats in that too.) There are some tunes in the background which phrases are laid over in time, and you hear them and lock them in your mind along with the tune. The guys voice is almost hypnotic and the woman who speaks with him is clear and easy to understand making it ultra easy to repeat and learn. The title of this book makes quite a claim. Niall Ferguson is a Harvard University professor from the UK, who produced a volume on the story of the Rothschild financial dynasty in the late 1990s, The book certainly has a number of interesting features e.g. its summary of recent events both precipitating and within the housing market 'crisis' and international commercial relationships between superpowers. Nevertheless, the impression is that the work - fascinating though it is in parts - may just have been a little bit 'scraped together', somewhat hurried.

"Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap... and Others Don't" by Jim Collins was a real eye opener for me. In this book, Jim Collins, observes 28 companies over the span of 5 years. Over this period of time 11 of the companies make the leap from "Good to Great". The findings in this book were truly eye opening and inspirational. I loved the chapter on Level 5 leadership. Collins starts the chapter using a quote by Harry S. Truman "You can accomplish anything in life, provided that you do not mind who gets the credit". This is the essence of the book. I bought Audio version of this book from itunes as I can listen but may buy the book as well just to back up what was said, the book gives case studies from known people like dragons den`s James Cann and other well known business people and how they got started and gives snippets of what their best advice would be.
It is not surprising that the advice they give is very similar in style and not one of them says that they regret anything about how they got started. Buy it, it truly is a great book. >>More Details |

Badly recorded. Little time between subjects. The descriptions of techniques are of little use without some sort of visual representation. My advice would be to produce a small accompanying booklet. Failing that, don't waste your money.

I read in 'How I made it: 40 entrepreneurs reveal all' by Rachel Bridge that this book had influenced someone greatly, to the extent that they became a millionaire, and thought no more of it. I then also read in 'Forbes 20 greatest business stories of all time' that this book had also influenced a very successful person (whose name I can't recall!)
This interested me enough to purchase Dale Carengies book and I think it is very well written and the advice contained within it is sound. All you need to do is look at the many good ratings and reviews of it on Amazon. If that doesn't tempt you, nothing will. >>More Details |

Having found Stephen Covey's "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" an extremely useful tool for organising my life, I really looked forward to what might lie in store with this "8th Habit" volume.
In many ways, I found reading it very much like eating a fruit cake - insofar as the pearls of wisdom and practical advice that were so densely packed in the "Seven Habits" - (I have my MS Outlook organised into Covey's "Urgent and Important, Important and Not Urgent . . ." system) were still there, but they were mixed more thinly through the dough of the fruit cake. The subtitle of the book is "Finding Your Own Voice and Teaching Others to Find Their's" and indeed it does have some extremely valuable lessons to give about empowerment and about delegation. ... In browsing my book shelf I came upon and then found myself rereading this incredibly simple yet profound book. The principles and ideas Stephen writes about are truly ways to discover how to live your life as the person you want to be. I especially found the section where Stephen writes about how powerful unexamined attitudes and perceptions influence how I react toward situations and others. Once I started looking at my predetermined thoughts...those same situations became less mundane and irritating. My experiences became more authentic, meaningful and enjoyable instantaneously. Stephen writes of this as a "paradigm shift", where our attitudes and behaviors, left unexamined, shape how we feel and act in our life in mechanical patterns.
